Perth-based internet business,aussiehome.com, has published the first ever
full-colour property magazine for Perth's Western Suburbs.
Named "The Life", this free publication will be available from this weekend onwards
, every fortnight running up to Christmas. Homebuyers can pick up their copy
from any participating agency office or home open.
aussiehome.com Director, Charlie Gunningham, says he got the idea from a business
trip to Melbourne. "Every agency in Melbourne's higher-end suburbs produce their
own full colour property guide every week – an amazing undertaking, and incredibly
popular with the public",he said.
The idea for "The Life" came while he and fellow Director, Nick Streuli were
standing in a tram on Chapel Street. "We just looked at each other and said
‘We could do this!'" said Streuli, "we have all the best properties in the
Western Suburbs – it's just a matter of getting it organised".
Nick and Charlie then approached five of the agencies here in Perth and they
seized on the idea: Mack Hall (Mack Hall & Associates), Dee Seed
(Dee Seed Real Estate), David McKenzie (Olifents Real Estate), Robbie Young
& John Zadnik (Zadnik Young & Co.) and Chris Shellabear (Shellabears).
"It's a win-win for all" Gunningham says, "agencies collaborating together to
share the costs of production and distribution to create something of real
use for the homebuying public".
Is this not a strange endeavour for an online real estate business to organize?
"Not at all", says Nick Streuli, "All properties in the magazine also appear on
participating agents' web sites and have home open times, if available." This
means the homebuyer can cruise around the home opens on a Saturday or do it online
as each property has a unique ID number, which is clearly shown. "Their web sites
are given greater exposure and now form part of a more directed marketing approach
as a result."
So, the message is: "If you're looking for a house in the Western Suburbs ... Get a Life!"
